Key Performers

	QB Joe Flacco made another strong preseason appearance, leading the Ravens offense on a six-play, 49-yard scoring drive in the first quarter. He finished 8-of-18 for 120 yards.

	WR Derrick Mason hauled in three passes for 68 yards in the first quarter, including a long of 43, which set up a Ray Rice scamper into the end zone, putting the Ravens up 14-0.

	DT Haloti Ngata picked off rookie QB Mark Sanchez's first attempt of the night, returning the INT for a 25-yard TD. It helped set the tone for another strong defensive outing for the Ravens.

	LB Jameel McClain picked off QB Kellen Clemens and returned it for a 16-yard TD. In their 14-year history, the Ravens have posted 12 defensive TDs by 10 different players during the preseason.

On his team’s play in the first half: “We didn’t do a good job in the middle of the second quarter on their touchdown drive. They got it started with a run and hit the screen to get a first down. They hit us on a wheel route for the touchdown.

“We did make the big plays on defense with Haloti [Ngata] and [Jameel] McClain. It was good to see McClain come back and make the big play after giving up the touchdown and getting caught in a kickoff coverage.

“Really, without our two big defensive plays, it was a very competitive first half – a 7-7 game.”

On his interception returned for a touchdown: “I was supposed to have contain on that play. I saw the running back come out, so I tried to stay in between [the quarterback and the running back]. I saw the quarterback looking at him, and then he threw the ball. I just jumped up, and it hit my stomach. My stomach swallowed it, and I caught the ball."

Team Notes

In two series of action, QB Joe Flacco completed 9 of 15 passes (60%) for 103 yards. Flacco led the Ravens on two scoring drives - 67 and 71 yards - as each march was capped by a K Steve Hauschka field goal (31 and 37 yards, respectively). Standing cool and poised in the packet, Flacco completed longs of 38 (RB Ray Rice) and 31 (WR Kelley Washington) yards. On third down, Flacco went 4-of-5 for 42 yards, converting three first downs.
S Tom Zbikowski made his mark for the night, forcing a fumble from Redskins TE Fred Davis. It was recovered by DT Dwan Edwards and led to the first Ravens' touchdown of the night.
QB John Beck started slow, but made the biggest play of the night with a 64-yard strike to rookie free agent WR Jayson Foster. Sixth-round draft pick RB Cedric Peerman punched the football in the end zone one play later, making the score 23-0 Baltimore.
