Team Notes

  • The Ravens' 501 total yards of offense is the most in team history. The previous best was 479 yards on Nov. 19 against the Dallas Cowboys.
  • Baltimore also gained a franchise-best 32 first downs, surpassing the old record of 29 set on Nov. 24, 1996. The Ravens' 20 first downs passing also set a franchise record.
  • QB Joe Flacco's 307 passing yards and RB Ray Rice's 108 rushing yards marked only the fourth time in team history that a duo produced 300 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a single game.
  • QB Joe Flacco set career highs in attempts (43), passing yards (307) and TDs (3). The 307 marked the first 300-yard game of his career and the 18th in Ravens franchise history. The last QB to post a 300-yard performance was Steve McNair (307 on Sept. 30, 2007).
  • Second-year RB Ray Rice made the 5th start of his career today. Totaling 108 rushing yards, he eclipsed the century mark for the 2nd time in his career (154 on Nov. 2, 2008)
  • For the second consecutive year, the Ravens' defense allowed less than 200 yards in the season opener (188 today). In 2008, Baltimore limited the Bengals to just 154 yards in the opener. The Ravens produced three games in 2008 when they hold opponents under 200 net yards.
  • The Ravens' defense extended its current NFL-best streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher to 36 games. Baltimore limited Larry Johnson, who is the last player to rush for 100 yards against the team (120 on Dec. 10, 2006), to just 20 yards on 11 attempts today.
  • RB Willis McGahee scored the 40th and 41st TDs of his career today. His 40th came when he caught a 3-yard TD pass from QB Joe Flacco in the 1st quarter. (The scoring reception was the 2nd best of his career.) His final TD, a 1-yard plunge with 31 seconds remaining, was the 39th rushing TD of his career.
  • TE Todd Heap totaled 74 receiving yards on 5 catches, the most yards he's had in a game since tallying 76 (on 7 receptions) vs. the Jets on Sept. 16, 2007. Last year against the Texans on Nov. 9, 2009, Heap pulled in season highs of 5 catches, 58 yards and 2 TDs.
  • LB Tavares Gooden sustained a knee sprain, which does not appear to be serious. S Tom Zbikowski suffered a concussion in the 1st half and did not return to action.
