The Ravens began shaping their practice squad Sunday by retaining four players, including quarterback Casey Bramlet.

Bramlet was brought in last week when Troy Smith was sidelined with an infection in his tonsils and Kyle Boller’s shoulder injury required more scrutiny after initial tests.

Baltimore also kept seventh-round draft pick Justin Harper and rookie free agents Joe Reitz and Ernie Wheelwright.

Meanwhile, defensive tackle J’Vonne Parker was released to create room for rookie kicker Steve Hauschka, a free agent that originally signed with the Minnesota Vikings, and rookie defensive tackle Lamar Divens, who spent the offseason with the San Diego Chargers.

After Saturday’s cut of 19 players (two were placed on Injured Reserve), the Ravens had one open roster spot due to the one-game suspensions of cornerbacks Fabian Washington and Derrick Martin.

The additions of Hauschka and Divens now marks the full 53-man team the Ravens will take into their season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Baltimore still has four available spots on their practice squad that can be filled Monday.
