Two-time Pro Bowler Terrell Suggs is expected to report to Ravens headquarters Sunday to end a 23-day absence from the team.

Suggs confirmed the move via text message after Baltimore fell 23-15 to the Minnesota Vikings in its preseason home opener.

The defensive end/linebacker will sign his one-year franchise tag tender as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker, a new position created through negotiations between the Ravens and agent Gary Wichard. The move occurred after Suggs filed a grievance with the NFL that claimed he played more snaps with his hand in the dirt than at linebacker.

Suggs is scheduled to practice Monday and briefly appear in the team's game against the St. Louis Rams Aug. 23.

Suggs, 25, has recorded 45 sacks in five pro seasons. He is coming off a year where he led the Ravens with five sacks and posted a career-high 95 tackles.

Under the collective bargaining agreement, Suggs was allowed to miss training camp without suffering fines from the team.

The Ravens have repeatedly stated that signing Suggs to a long-term contract is a priority this year.
