Rice Looking for Separation

by Mike Duffy 5/13/2008

Perhaps lost amid the hoopla surrounding Joe Flacco during the Ravens’ full-team minicamp last weekend was the arrival of Ray Rice. During the three-day session, all eyes were trained on the 6-foot-6 Flacco and his storied cannon of a right arm, while one almost had to search out the diminutive Rice as his 5-foot-8, 200-pound frame was a blur around the football field.

The Ravens used their eight Day 2 picks to focus on four characteristics they want to describe the John Harbaugh era of Baltimore football.

Despite the whirlwind welcome for 23-year-old’s career in Baltimore, Flacco’s demeanor never wavered. He came in cool. Laid back. Calm, even. He left the same way. For a guy that has the hopes of an owner, a coach, a team and a city riding on his first-round draft status, the way he handled everything was almost veteran-like.
