When the Ravens signed offensive tackle Chad Slaughter on July 31, he hadn’t played football for more than a year. Laying concrete in his hometown of Dallas was the way Slaughter took up most of his time. Heading in to training camp last season, linebacker Edgar Jones seemed destined for the waiver wire, like many undrafted rookie free agents before him. But, he emerged from training camp a pleasant surprise.
The Baltimore Ravens open the 13th consecutive training camp at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD in late July 2008. Camp will be extended an extra two weeks for a total of five weeks.
Camp kicks off with two practices (8:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, July 22, and breaks on Friday, Aug. 15. Ravens rookies, quarterbacks and injured veteran players will report on Monday, July 21, and take part in four practices before all veterans arrive Wednesday, July 23. The first full-squad practices open to the public are scheduled for Friday, July 25, at 8:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Players will be available for autographs each day after practice. Simply line up next to the fences and ropes surrounding the field. While there is a good chance that you will get an autograph from your favorite players, we cannot guarantee all desired autographs. Several players have commitments for media interviews and team meetings after practice.
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King on Ravens Training Camp: “No team is more fan-friendly than the Ravens. Most days, they make their players walk the gauntlet of fans for maybe 150 yards after practice to get to the locker room, and you can meet and speak with players as they leave the field.”

In 2007, the total training camp attendance was 90,370. This was the second largest crowd ever to attend Ravens training camp, trailing only the 2001 total of 111,492. Below are a few interactive games and merchandise that fans can find in the Ravenstown Fan Zone:
