In his 5th year as the team’s Northeast area scout, Joe Douglas is responsible for scouting the Big East, ACC, Atlantic 10, Ivy League, MEAC, SEC and Southern conferences. Douglas helps organize and coordinate the post-draft free agent signing process, along with Jeremiah Washburn.
2000-2007: (with Baltimore) 2003-07: Scouted the Northeast for the Ravens...Baltimore selected T Adam Terry from Syracuse in the ‘05 Draft...Is assigned the O-line position and reports on all of the offensive linemen considered “draftable” by the Ravens. 2000-02: Joined the Ravens as a football personnel assistant and worked mainly with the college scouting staff in a number of roles, including coordinating college workouts and draft visits, plus spring and fall scouting...Douglas was also in charge of the team’s college video library and assisted pro personnel director George Kokinis in the advance special teams evaluations of Ravens opponents and unrestricted free agents.
COLLEGE: A communications major and sports administration minor at the University of Richmond, Joe was a 4-year starter at tackle, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors his senior year...Spent the 1999 season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Richmond football team...Some of his former Richmond teammates include LB Shawn Barber (Texans) and LB Paris Lenon (Lions).
PERSONAL: Douglas, who was a 2-time All-State football player at Lee-Davis (Mechanicsville, VA) HS, appeared in the football movie, The Replacements, which was shot at M&T Bank Stadium in 1999...Joe, his wife, Shannon, and their 1-year-old daughter Addison, reside in Baltimore.
